I personally found the timing of this newsletter uncanny. We at All star Health have several of our female team members currently expecting within the next six to seven months. I am proud to say, they all are currently under the care of one of our skilled chiropractors. As their hormones and bodies go through the necessary changes to carry a child full-term, they find the non-invasive, drug-less treatment extremely beneficial.
Over the years, and currently we have treated countless expecting mothers pre-and post childbirth. To date, we are happy to say all were treated successfully with no complications. Mothers to be giving credit to our chiropractic treatments for decreasing pain during pregnancy and returning their bodies to pre-pregnancy status post childbirth.
Of interesting now, we thank the many Valley OB/GYN physicians for referring their patients to our offices. They now chiropractic makes sense and is safe for the treatment of back and leg pain that commonly affects expecting mothers. They refer to us not only for gentle chiropractic manipulation but also for other unique techniques we utilize. One of which being active release technique for the treatment of various muscle pain syndromes. As the weight of the child increases it begins to put increase stress and strain on the lower back/hip muscles. This technique has been shown to effectively loosen muscle tissue therefore decreasing pain generated from those tissues.

We see patients seeking treatment from all three somatic types with no degree of regularity specific to any one group. Clinically speaking, all three somatic types frequent our offices for the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pain. It’s a known clinical fact that there are five triggers that can affect muscles and joints that could make them hurt. They are as follows: trauma, overuse, inactivity, emotional tension and infections. With that said, it would not be fair to say that any one specific somatic type exposes themselves excessively to any one of these five triggers. Keep in mind there is one myth I would like to put to rest. A patient’s weight or body size due to obesity does not prevent them from recovering fully from any musculoskeletal pain most specifically back pain. All too often we see patients seeking our care for back pain being told that their weight is the root cause. Time and again we help these patients recover fully without them ever losing weight! Losing weight would be helpful for their overall well-being and health but not exclusive to the root cause of their joint pain or muscle discomfort. This patient population tends to be more sedentary due to inactivity therefore triggering musculoskeletal pain. Spinal manipulation to restore joint motion combined with myo-fascial release and exercise under our supervision aids in their pain recovery. A person's exposure to any of these five triggers, regardless of somatotype, would warrant them to seek the advice of their local chiropractor. Chiropractic care should be the treatment of choice to prevent injuries before they ever occur just as we see a dentist before a cavity exists.
